It’s A Hard Knock Life { Pearl & Red }

fireredrules:

   The other’s agreement to getting into ‘bumpy’ situations makes him a little concerned. Was it him doing the bumping… or the other way around? If it was the former, then they were matched up to hit into each other a lot.

   Red takes the boy’s hand gratefully and coughs into the inside of one elbow before hoisting himself up with some difficulty. As they continue to speak, his expression grows more worried. D— Dying? He’d never thought about any of those repercussions. Did he.. act like someone who was going to fall into a coma? What were the symptoms for that? The trainer can only stare with wide eyes, absorbing the other’s panic. While his mouth opens to reply, nothing comes out.

   He tugs on Barry’s sleeve instead. The hit to his head along with this was a bit much for his brain to take on. Char is considerably upset as well, quickly turning around to wrap his tail around his trainer, baring his teeth at the stranger.

   Needless to say, Barry freaked them out a bit.

Oh, good job, Barry. You’ve just scared the living daylights out of this poor kid. He’ll probably just have a sore head for a few days, tops, and here you are insinuating that he may or may not die. You study his face as he tugs your sleeve. He looks absolutely horrified and his Charizard looks angry. You take a few steps back and take a moment to calm yourself.

Okay, you probably won’t die, but I think you should get it checked out, at least,” you say with an awkward shrug. “I didn’t mean to scare ya! It’s fine, all right?

    It’s A Hard Knock Life { Pearl & Red }

    fireredrules:

       Getting to Snowpoint City was probably one of the longest flights Red and his Charizard had ever done. Not only was Sinnoh a few regions apart from Kanto but that particular city was the furthest out. Still, it was worth it. The snow was always worth it. Having visited mostly tropical places lately, this was just the thing he needed to brush off all that unwanted heat.

       They seemed to be making it, the city was in visible range now, though there was a fair bit of fog in the way. It was so close. All he wanted to do was sit in the snow. Or maybe sleep in it. From what he saw on the map, there wasn’t much else to do there. It only had a Gym and the usual Mart and Center. Of course, Red wasn’t complaining, that also meant less people.

       … Lately whenever he thought things like that, they always went the opposite. This was no exception. While lowering in altitude for landing, another trainer flies through the thick white air too fast for either of them to react and results in a very ungraceful crash. Heads collide and Char roars in anger, dipping away to land not too far from the other pair.

       Red had fallen back from the contact and was laying on the large lizard in a rather askew manner, his expression riddled with disbelief and almost looked a bit self-pitying. Boy, did his head ache. The brunet begins to slip off his pokemon but Char lowers himself to keep him balanced, all the while glaring daggers at the others. Smoke puffs from his mouth and nose, significantly darker than the steam normal breathing would cause.

       Soon enough, the person they collided with speaks up and the boy attempts to turn his head and look. “It’s.. fine…. It was partly my fault. Too.” His Charizard grunts in disagreement. “I get in situations like this.. all the time. So…. don’t worry.” Red tries to get down now, pressing one hand to his head and getting a little bit of help with Char’s wing. Once his feet are on the ground, he almost trips forward, wobbles and ultimately falls back instead, sitting in the snow.

       ”That was a hard knock, though. Are you okay?” Says the one who can’t keep their balance. He probably set off a lot of red flags. No Winter clothes, choppy speech and clumsy footing…. But this was a usual thing.

    Oh… good,” you respond, feeling better about having crashed into the kid. “Yeah, I actually do too.

    You give the kid a good look over. He doesn’t look to good to you, honestly. He falls straight over after dismounting, causing you to head over to him and offer your hand to help him up. Now that feeling of guilt for hitting him is back. He seems to be off a lot worse than you are. They way he talks makes him sound disoriented, too. You must have a harder head than he does!

    I’m fine, but what about you?! Jeez! You can’t even stand right!” you exclaim. “Should we take you to a doctor? Maybe you have a concussion! Maybe you’re dying!” Probably not, Barry. Also, try not and freak this guy out too much, will you?

      It’s not unusual for Professor Rowan to have you flying all over to the region, doing miscellaneous errands that he himself is too busy for. It doesn’t really bother you too much at all. You love being able to travel across the region like that. The most recent errand Rowan has for you is to deliver a few Pokémon to Snowpoint City Gym. Professor Rowan had borrowed a few from Candice to study and now that he was done, he was to return them, so he sent you.

      You received the box of Poké Balls from Professor Rowan and you exit the lab. You release your Staraptor and hop onto it, flying off from Sandgem Town and making the long trip to Snowpoint City. You’re dressed in warm winter clothes, since Snowpoint is snowy nearly all year round. Rowan insisted that you dress warmly though you wouldn’t be hanging around the city for too long. Too bad it’s burning warm in Sandgem, making you sweat horribly for the most of a two hour flight.

      Eventually, the snowy landscape of northern Sinnoh is in your sight. You start to feel glad for the clothes you were forced to wear now. Snowpoint City shouldn’t be too far off now. Once you’re there, you’ll drop off the balls and then remove your heavy coat to fly back to Sandgem. You honestly can’t wait. You aren’t fond of the longer trips all too much. They’re quite boring.

      Here’s something that’ll make this day a little more interesting: you accidentally crash into another flier when you slowly zone out while waiting for your trip to end. You groan loudly, slamming your head against the other Trainer’s. Your Staraptor flies out of the way of the other bird before landing on the ground. The other guy seems to have landed too. You rub your head as you dismount from your Pokémon.

      Arceus, ugh…” you mutter, your heard already pounding dully. “Jeez, sorry, man. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.
